![]() ![]() I think the only problem is the way enemy attack animations are less distinctive than in most action games - there isn't much windup to their attacks, and instead a punch is just one (slow) steady movement. Combo windows are no less lenient, tacklers - or any enemy of note - are always framed within the camera when they're starting to attack and only are off-screen if you move the camera away from them. Brutality 101 is definitely easier than Perfect Freeflow 2.0, if only because each freeflow gadget attack has two versions. It takes time to get used to it, and having gotten 200% completion on my Arkham Knight save file, I can say the combat is the same experience as in past games with a few welcome additions (except for what was done to explosive gel, blech). It's funny seeing this happen all over again. People said the same stuff about City after it came out - too many enemy types, convoluted controls, etc. Not sure what else to say aside from this thread's premise is wrong. ![]() If something doesn't make sense, maybe mess with it for a bit until you get a grasp for it? The only time I've tried that recently without it working was "rolling while prone" in MGS: Ground Zeroes (you have to aim while prone, move the left joystick, then click it in!). The controls don't ask too much of the player (you should play a fighting game sometime), they're numerous instead of complicated and you get frequent on-screen hints for specific maneuvers (that appear every time you get new abilities). I don't mean to put you on the spot, but the fact you haven't grasped the controls at this point is on you. I'm can wrap my head around how you got confused about Batmobile stuff, but not with the combat if you played the other games. You also were trying to use the tank mode during a chasing challenge and you somehow figured you have to hold circle to lock on to vehicles when you only have to hold it to cancel a lock-on, so I figured that's what you felt overwhelmed. The reason I thought you hadn't played the other games was that you said using gadgets during fights requires three button presses when none of them ever have. The only thing weird about the Batmobile controls are brake being square, and even then, the controls are perfectly functional. ![]()
